One sample line, many analysis branches

Nam Phuong supplies and installs two Beckman Coulter sample transport systems: DxA and Power Express. On both, the sample tube is prepared before analysis and then goes to the analyser assigned for the test. Donor blood screening uses a separate system.

The diagram follows Beckman Coulter documents and is not a floor plan. The boxes on the way in are the pre-analytical steps the manufacturer names for each system. The analysers on the three branches are on the connection lists of both systems.

DxA line

Beckman Coulter DxA 5000, DxA 5000 Fit

Every tube enters through a single door. The line checks each tube, centrifuges and decaps when needed, then sends it to the analyser assigned for the test, giving priority to emergency samples and to analysers that are ready. DxA 5000 handles up to 1,200 tubes per hour.

Beckman Coulter Power Express

Tubes enter in racks or loose, and emergency samples get priority. The system has a centrifuge unit (up to 4 centrifuges), decapping, aliquoting with liquid level detection, recapping and a sample store; a four-lane two-way track takes tubes to the analysers.

PrecisionVision on DxI 9000 checks the tube, the cap, the probe, sample aspiration and dispensing, the wash volume and the substrate while a run is going. DxI 9000 needs no daily maintenance.

DxH 900 hematology analyser

Measures whole blood and body fluids with the enhanced Coulter principle and VCS 360. DxH 900 Workcell combines up to three analysers with the DxH SMS II slide maker and stainer, and is compatible with DxA 5000 and DxA 5000 Fit.

Automates every step of nucleic acid testing (NAT) for donor blood screening, with no batch runs and with samples and reagents loaded continuously. This is a separate Grifols system and not part of the Beckman Coulter line.
